Oh man, that would've been really insightful - I adore his style! So is it a trade secret or can u tell me how he achieves that slightly jittery-chalky brush look? Is there a magic combo of brish settings in photoshop or does he just play around until it looks right?

He uses a inverted mask on vector shapes layers and using the spatter filter

And then lots of textures! It was pretty crazy how simple

Thanks very much for getting back to me about his methods - unfortunately I didn't quite understand what you meant by the term "inverted mask" but it's all good - (SHFT+CTRL+I?? But how would that...? Never mind). Haha. But don't worry, I shall continue experimenting, perhaps one day I'll nut it out or come up with something equally cool.

Yeah, one of the nicest things I picked up at a con earlier this year was the "Seductive Espionage" book featuring Kevin Dart's Yuki 7.

Never knew he was color-blind!

I think you captured Kevin's style really well!
